Laboratory for Nanoscopy


The Higher School of Economics Laboratory for Nanoscopy at the Institute of Spectroscopy of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow Troitsk, Russia invites applications for postdoctoral research positions in the field of fluorescence spectroscopy and microscopy of single quantum emitters.

 

The job involves:

  • working under the direct supervision of Prof. Dr. Andrey Naumov
  • participants are encouraged to pursue their own research in the following research projects of Nanoscopy Laboratory:

o  Fluorescence nanoscopy of single colloidal semiconductor quantum dots

o  3-dimentional superresolution fluorescence microscopy and tracking with single quantum emitters

o  Cryogenic single-molecule spectroscopy for nanodiagnostics of dynamical processes in complex solids (polymers, glasses, molecular crystals)

  • writing research papers for international peer-reviewed journals in co-authorship with the members of the Lab
  • participation in organization of the events and other contribution to the Lab’s development
  • public presentations of candidate’s own research to the researchers in the field and the broader academic community
  • some teaching is encouraged, though not required.

 

The Lab offers access to its experimental setups, institute’s library, electronic journals and databases.

 

Requirements:

  • a PhD from an international research university in such fields as: optics, spectroscopy, laser physics, condensed matter physics;
  • a strong background in fluorescence microscopy, single-molecule spectroscopy, lasers, time-correlated photon counting, cryogenics;
  • ability to work in a team,
  • fluent English
  • relevant experience is an asset although not required
