Quantum Optics and Nanoplasmonics


The Higher School of Economics Faculty of Physics (Chair of Quantum Optics and Nanophotonics with the Institute of Spectroscopy of the Russian Academy of Sciences invites applications for postdoctoral research position in the field of Quantum Optics and Nanoplasmonics.

 

The job involves:

  • working under direct supervision of Prof. Dr. Victor Zadkov, Director of the institute;
  • The Lab offers access to its databases and analytical software, supercomputers «Chebyshev» and «Lomonosov» at Lomonosov Moscow State University;
  • participants are encouraged to pursue their research working on the theoretical projects listed below:

o  Quantum optics of atoms and molecules near nanoparticles;

o  Near-field polarization distribution of nanoparticles with high refractive index near substrate;

o  Resonance fluorescence of a multi-level atom near nanoparticle;

  • writing research papers to international peer-reviewed journals in co-authorship with the members of the Institute;
  • presenting your own research results and result of the research group you work with at the National and International conferences and other meetings; taking part in scientific seminars and events organized by the host Institute, as well as in other Institute’s activities;
  • some teaching is encouraged, though not required.

 

Requirements:

  • PhD in Physics from an internationally recognized research university in such fields as: Quantum Optics, QED, Quantum Mechanics, Nonlinear Optics, Nanophotonics;
  • ability to work in a team;
  • strong background in in quantum optics, QED, quantum mechanics;
  • fluent English and good abilities in academic writing and scientific presentations.
