The Laboratory for Key Skills and New Literacy: Competencies and skills

The Laboratory for Key Skills and New Literacy of the Institute of Education, Higher School of Economics in Moscow, Russia invites applications for postdoctoral research positions in the field of competencies and skills.

The job involves:

• working under the direct supervision of  Prof. Jarkko Hautamäki;
• participants are encouraged to pursue their own research within the Laboratory for Key Skills and New Literacy research projects in broad areas:

o  Key competencies and “new literacy”

o  Instructional Design

o  Life-long learning education for skills and literacy development.

• writing research papers for international peer-reviewed journals, also in co-authorship with the members of the Lab;
• participation in organization of the events and other contribution to the Lab’s development;
• public presentations of candidate’s own research to the researchers in the field and the broader academic community;
• teaching is encouraged, though not required.

The Institute of Education conducts annual empirical studies that provide extensive data for the researchers in the above-mentioned areas. The Laboratory offers access to its databases and analytical software also.

Requirements:

• a PhD from an international research university in such fields as: Education, Pedagogy, Psychology, Sociology, Economics.
• a strong background in quantitative and qualitative analysis, research and practice in Education, Psychology, Instructional Design and Technologies.
• ability to work in a team, ambitiousness and proactivity.
• fluent English.
